Working it

After wrestling with Odie's mane and tail for a half hour, and pulling off half a cat of hair (per Funder), he finally looked presentable enough for pictures. He also reminded me about how 'growed up' he is, by standing patiently for the grooming whilst the goats were making laps around the barn. Because they could. I measured him and he was a good 16.1--finally! I'm not sure when those two inches got here, but they did, and now I'm wondering when he's going to STOP growing.

I gave him a little lunge as a warm up, and he's also come a far way with that as well. The first day I took him out after his winter break he pulled me maybe 100 yards all over the place, where ever he wanted, when he decided he was done. Which then got him restricted to the 10-foot-circle of doom. He now can w-t-c on the full length of line whilst my arm stays in one piece. Hooray! Also, with a surcingle and a chambon. Today I decided to ground drive him and everyone stayed in one piece, with plenty of distraction practice again provided by the goats. Free of charge.

Anyone need some mane?

Stretchy?

I is large!

  1. He's so handsome! I remember when he was just a tiny burnt-orange baby. Isn't it funny how they go from "kinda short" to "wait, no, stop growing already!" just overnight?

  2. Wow, he is looking beautiful. So know what you mean by distractions :), I don't have goats, but cattle, chickens, dog that loves the horses, then the peacocks fanning their tails, lol. I think its good for them though.
